Joe got his first taste of politics at age 26. He led a 7 candidate ticket and was elected to a seat on City Council. After serving a 4 year term, he ran for re-election and was again victorious. Family and strong faith in God play a major role in Joe’s decision to seek office. he says he is “perplexed” by politicians who claim to be Christian, but ignore the needs of poor children and working families: “As legislators we must pay attention to the impacts of our social and economic policies on families and children. This should be far more important than any perceived assaults on our religious faith.”
